THE NEW ZEALAND SOCIAL MARKETING NETWORK
Kia ora. Welcome to the New Zealand Social Marketing Network – a volunteer run, no-cost network to link behaviour change / social marketing practitioners in NGO’s, government agencies, not-for-profits as well as academics, prac-ademics, and support services in the communications and research sectors.
Our kaupapa is to create a space to collaborate, learn and grow social marketing practice; sharing knowledge and fostering connections to build capability in our practice. We foster the connection between academic possibility and real-world practical experience.
Our current membership of 300+ is largely centred in Wellington, but extends around Aotearoa New Zealand. We have formalised links with regional and global social marketing networks - so we stay connected with emerging knowledge and ensure our voice is heard internationally.
EVENTS
We host local and international speakers who share case studies and thought -leadership items. These are usually monthly and held on-line during lunchtime, so that you have food for thought and self without compromising your daily mahi.
We also host occasional in-person events to provide the human connection.
Events are usually recorded and available in our resources page. They are promoted in our regular newsletters (which are always a valuable read) and in our social media channels.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COACHING
Open the door on blue skys and green fields. If you have a specific professional development plan, we can connect you with an experienced mentor drawn from the network to address the skills you need to unlock potential or unblock a problem with a programme of work.

INTERNSHIPS
We have a solution if you have a social marketing / behaviour change opportunity languishing or you need a problem addressed but haven’t got to it yet due to lack of people power.
We have access to senior tertiary students who can work on time-bound or ongoing programmes. They bring academic and practical experience as well as fresh eyes and energy. This may include communications plans, social media plans, literature reviews, funding applications, desk research, sponsorship programmes – but don’t let that limit your thinking, we are up for any opportunity to help you and invest in the future of social marketing.
